Anita Gödiker as a guest in Munich
In Munich, outstanding entrepreneurial personalities were inducted into the “Hall of Fame of Family Businesses” at a festive event: In front of two hundred guests from business, politics and society – including Anita Gödiker – the entrepreneurial achievements of Martin and Maximilian Viessmann, Holger Loclair and Veronika and Hans Lindner were honored in the festive ambience of Munich’s “The Charles” Hotel. Posthumously, Karl and Theo Albrecht were inducted into the Hall of Fame as honorary members.
The award was created by the editorial team of the “Handelsblatt” newspaper together with the Family Business Foundation. Another partner is the consulting firm KPMG. The award was presented for the twelfth time. In addition to successful management, the jury also assesses the performance of the family if, as the main shareholder, it has a significant and successful influence on the company’s strategy.
Anita Gödiker: “Small and medium-sized businesses, and therefore to a large extent family businesses, are the backbone of the German economy. Satellite Office is also one of them and lives the values that are very important in my view, such as down-to-earthness, reliability and job security, every day! For me, it is very important to exemplify these values and to act accordingly, even in difficult times. Environmentally friendly business practices and social and cultural commitment are a matter of course for me. I was particularly pleased that Karl and Theo Albrecht were honored posthumously for their life’s work. The jury unanimously decided to appoint the founders of Aldi as honorary members of the “Hall of Fame of Family Businesses. The two are retail pioneers who have set standards in their industry. They are considered the inventors of discounting in the grocery business.”
