About Straehle, Stuttgart and Satellite Office
We meet Florian Strähle for an interview – unfortunately not in Stuttgart but in Berlin, where his company “Strähle Raum-Systeme” has a second location, which he manages as Managing Director. Florian Strähle is also a member of Satellite Office’s advisory board and is therefore always up close to developments. We have firmly arranged to meet him next time in Stuttgart.
Satellite Office: For more than 100 years, since 1911 to be precise, the Strähle company has been based in Waiblingen near Stuttgart. How important is the Swabian homeland for you and the company?
Florian Strähle: “Our roots are in Swabia. Over the course of time, Strähle has developed from a joinery into a leading company for system partitions, room-in-room solutions and acoustic systems. Stuttgart is our home, we are firmly rooted here and have built up a strong network. We feel a close connection with our customers, suppliers and our team. Some of our employees have been with us for more than 30 years. For me personally, the region stands above all for family, beautiful nature with vineyards and, of course, excellent food.”
Satellite Office: “Your company embodies “Swabian inventiveness” like no other. What exactly do you mean by that?
Florian Strähle: “As a company, we have always been at the forefront of new developments in our field. Right from the start, a system partition wall from Strähle was flexible due to its modular idea and could adapt to new spatial requirements. Nowadays, we talk about cycles… and that has always been the case with us. We were the first partition manufacturer in Germany to certify a partition according to the “Cradle to Cradle” principle. We have also developed innovative products in the context of “New Work”, such as the TEAMBOX by Strähle – a place of retreat for telephone calls, meetings or concentrated work. Therefore, we try to perceive and implement market needs – we thus embody modern inventiveness.”
Do you have a special connection to the new Satellite Office location in Stuttgart?
Florian Strähle: “Due to our many years of experience in acoustics and sound insulation, we were Satellite Office’s partner in the invention of the PureSilent© room concept, which is why I am of course all the more pleased that we were now able to help implement this concept here in our home country, so to speak. I have a special connection, of course, because Königsstraße in Stuttgart was part of my youth.
You know the Stuttgart market well: Why do you think Satellite Office is almost fully booked in Stuttgart even before it opens?
Florian Strähle: “Stuttgart continues to be one of the strongest economic regions anywhere. There are numerous global market leaders, many family businesses and a start-up scene that should not be underestimated. If a region is crying out for co-working or business centers … then it is “the LÄND”.
