The network hubs of the 21st century
Zurich, June 23, 2016: Networks often determine personal career paths. The decisive factor is not necessarily what you can do, but rather who you know. An optimal and contemporary platform for business interactions are business & coworking centers. Do you need a patent attorney? Next door on the right between the financial expert and the motivational trainer. “This integrated network is a big plus for us as a business center provider compared to classic solutions,” says Anita Gödiker. The founder of Satellite Office recently opened her first Swiss business center in Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse.
The history of business networking
Already in the 17. and In the 18th century, coffee houses sprang up around the London Stock Exchange, where businessmen met to discuss “big business.” This role was assumed in the 19th century the classic British gentlemen’s clubs. This is where London’s influential businessmen frequented. A basic idea that has also continued in elite sports clubs, boarding schools or social clubs. As a result of advancing digitization, the topic of “networking” has become much more multi-layered, international and complex today. In addition to the classic networks that people build up directly and in person in universities, golf clubs, associations and companies, there are also the virtual contacts via social networks.
Satellite Office: “Real-life Linked-in”
Anita Gödiker is an experienced networker: “I still find it fascinating how many contacts we can manage today through social networks. From my point of view, however, the abundance of contacts does not only have advantages. The more contacts you have, the more confusing it becomes. And that is counterproductive. Contacts only remain resilient if they are maintained appropriately. I’d rather have 200 top contacts I can rely on than 2,000 I can’t even assign.”
In her high-end business centers in Zurich as well as Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, Gödiker takes on the role of a “real-life linked-in” in person. Because she uses her personal network primarily to connect her customers with the right contacts. It now has more than 1,400 companies as customers at its seven locations – from individual consultants to start-ups and corporate groups. Whenever one of these customers needs a business contact, Gödiker usually has the right business card to offer.
Cost airbag minimizes risks for entrepreneurs
“Our bid packages include a built-in cost airbag that enables optimal planning. After all, that’s important for any business. For young entrepreneurs, our starter package serves as a “bridge” between home office and traditional office rental. For well-off and established companies, on the other hand, this package is particularly valuable for risk-free expansion. The advantage: representative premises at a top address without any long-term contracts, high security payments and investments,” says Gödiker. Companies wishing to set up in Zurich can book a simple “starter package” with a domicile address and mail service with and without telephone forwarding from Satellite Office. As an additional option, Satellite Office offers four “flat rate” packages that include office space and meeting rooms, for example. These can be reserved by the hour or day, depending on your needs.
Press accreditation: Züri Fäscht from above
On July 1, Satellite Office invites press representatives to the Züri Fäscht on the company’s own roof terrace. There you can experience the fireworks with a view of Lake Zurich. Beforehand, Anita Gödiker will guide you through the Business Center and will be available for interviews.
