Where Marlene Dietrich once strolled across the carpet, it will soon be possible to work flexibly.
Berlin, September 24, 2020: The special Wilhelminian style property at Kurfürstendamm 15 in Berlin is also known beyond the borders of the capital. Satellite Office will open a “Flexible Workspace” here in a few weeks. “It’s going to be the house of stories,” Anita Gödiker, founder and CEO of Satellite Office, tells us just under four weeks before the opening. Satellite Office is the luxury brand among flexible workspace providers and operates a total of eleven locations in Germany and Switzerland. Four of them in Satellite Office’s hometown, Berlin.
The ensemble of buildings on the lower Kurfürstendamm near the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church tells a good piece of Berlin history in the old West Berlin and is thus an important contemporary witness. From 1917-1986 the famous Berlin pub “Mampes Gute Stube” was located in the future Satellite Office premises. In 1926, the “Gloria Berlin” was opened in this area as a luxury cinema. In April 1930, the premiere of “The Blue Angel” with Marlene Dietrich as Lola Lola took place here.
Elegant offices, fireplace lounge, pureSilent® cubes and coworking
Satellite Office will manage the entire building at Kurfürstendamm 15, from half of the second floor to the top floor, from October 15, 2020. The building underwent a complete core renovation from 2017 to 2020, and much of it was restored to its original state with loving attention to detail. On 2,300 sqm, 43 luxury offices, three meeting rooms, a fireplace room, various silent cubes, several bistro lounges and open space areas for coworking are being created. A total of 140 high-quality workplaces are being created in segregated areas in the middle of the capital.
Luxurious interior design with many “silent” elements
The interior design picks up on the house’s founding style of ornamentation and stucco and combines it with Satellite Office’s modern “silent elements”: sheltered seating areas, sound and translucent privacy screens, air-conditioned telephone boxes and cubes. The color scheme of the building, which has been faithfully restored to its original appearance, is as magnificent as the stories that took place here. Purple and gold meet various shades of gray, red, black and taupe. The intensity of the colors reflects the luxury of 1920s Berlin. The interior of the house does not celebrate its restraint, but its grandiose history as a former luxury cinema “Gloria Palast” and later also as the birthplace of the famous bitter liqueur “Mampe Halb&Halb”. The extraordinary interior design bears the typical signature of Anita Gödiker, it proves courage and a great passion for history(s).
About Satellite Office
Satellite Office creates space for quiet, concentrated work in impressive real estate. In the middle of the centers of European metropolises. True to the motto: “Casual Luxury Workspaces”.
Made in Berlin! The company was founded in February 1997 by Anita Gödiker. At that time, the idea of sharing office space – also for cost reasons – was central. Over the course of more than 20 years, Anita Gödiker has consistently developed Satellite Office beyond the traditional “business center”. In 2010, coworking areas were added to the business centers. The interior design, which was rather traditional at the beginning, was designed by Gödiker to be more modern and luxurious with each new location. The “pureSilent-Line”® was launched in 2019. The new equipment line combines luxurious design with a clever room system that allows absolute quiet while working. In the individual office as well as in the open space and meeting rooms.
Satellite Office is now the luxury brand in the flexible workspace industry, with eleven locations in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Zurich. More than 4,000 companies use Satellite Office’s services – from international corporations to ambitious start-ups.
